The Eclipse Magnetics MicroMag is a patented, compact, high-intensity magnetic filtration system designed to remove fine ferrous contamination from neat and soluble oils. Engineered for precision machining environments, it delivers exceptional filtration performance while offering low operating costs, long fluid life, and rapid return on investment.
With a high contamination collection capacity relative to its size, MicroMag provides highly efficient fine particle removal without stripping essential properties from cutting fluids. It is ideal for use with a wide range of metalworking fluids, coolants, oils, and CNC systems, helping improve machining performance, product quality, and overall process efficiency.
Compared to traditional filtration systems such as bag, cartridge, or paper filters, MicroMag eliminates the need for consumables, significantly reducing maintenance costs and waste disposal. The system also contributes to cleaner fluids, extended tool life, and improved surface finish quality. Mobile and high-pressure variants are also available for flexible or heavy-duty applications.
Key Features
-
Low-cost, rapid payback: reduces spend on consumables and maintenance while improving process efficiency.
-
High-intensity magnetic filtration: rare earth magnetic core captures extremely fine ferrous particles.
-
Non-blocking design: engineered flow channels ensure continuous operation without clogging.
-
No consumables required: eliminates cartridges, bags, and paper filters.
-
Extended fluid life: maintains coolant quality without removing key additives.
-
Quick cleaning process: magnetic core can be cleaned in minutes using a simple tool.
Typical Applications
- Grinding, honing, lapping, drilling, and EDM processes.
- Coolant filtration in CNC machining centres.
- Neat oil and soluble oil filtration systems.
- Pre-pump or delivery line filtration.
- Applications requiring improved surface finish and reduced tool wear.
How It Works
Contaminated fluid enters the inlet port and is dispersed through tapered radial flow channels. As the fluid flows around the centrally mounted rare earth magnetic core, fine ferrous particles are captured along its length, ensuring highly efficient filtration.
The magnetic circuit is designed so contamination builds gradually and evenly, preventing blockage and allowing fluid to continue flowing freely at all times. Clean fluid then passes through return slots, exiting the system ready for reuse.
The magnetic core is easily cleaned using a dedicated tool that removes collected particles quickly and efficiently. As no disposable filter media is used, waste is minimised and only ferrous contaminants need to be removed and disposed of.
