Description
Alnico Cylindrical Bars are compact rod-shaped magnets ideal for precision applications such as sensors, switches, and small-scale magnetic circuits. Manufactured from high-quality Alnico alloy, these magnets provide excellent magnetic performance and long-term stability, especially in high-temperature environments. The cylindrical shape ensures uniform magnetic fields along the axis, and they are typically used in pairs for enhanced effect

Learn More About Alnico Cylindrical Bars
The Alnico Cylindrical Bars magnet range is a popular educational magnet choice by having low magnetic pull force making handling them easier. They are sold in pairs. The Alnico Cylindrical Bars magnet range is used to trigger reed switches and other magnetic devices such as hall effect sensors, having field strengths of typically around 1200 Gauss. They have not been designed for clamping applications. The Alnico Cylindrical Bars magnet range is sold in pairs. They are all round bar magnets. They are not powerful magnets and are not meant for clamping applications so are not given pull force ratings. Instead they are given field strength ratings. Each type has a typical filed strength of around 1200 Gauss .The 4mm, 5mm and 6mm diameter versions are supplied in
‘natural’ condition (no plating, no coating) - the larger diameter versions are powder coated in our world famous “Eclipse Magnetic Red”. All versions are supplied in pairs with removable keeper plates at each end.
Typical applications include triggering reed switches and hall effect sensors. They can be used in devices including coin operated machines, security instruments, electrical meters and circuit boards. They are also very popular in educational establishments to introduce magnets because they are not very powerful. The alnico magnetic material is capable of being used at temperatures up to 550°C (1200°F). Be aware that the red coating may show signs of thermal damage above 200°C .
